Book Design Reasoning

You may have just joined a group or gotten a new job and now you are required to read this booklet. You would read it because you voluntarily joined the group and want to know more about it, or gotten a new job and want to qualify yourself to do well. Otherwise, you would never pick this up, right? It is off-putting, insulting! Negative emotions! As an author, you can’t get away with that when it comes to your book design. You want to inspire someone to pick up your book because it appeals to them! The artwork, the colors used, the title and subtitle all need to speak to the very emotions of your reader and communicate clearly why they would love to read this book. That process deserves the effort it takes to do it well in all aspects. The information inside the book may be great, but your potential reader will never get there if the cover design doesn’t draw them in.
