So here we are back to the cold season, when we can huddle inside and get something valuable done!

Currently, I am so aware that if a story is not written down, eventually, it will be gone, really gone. I find myself with rich pictures and lively memories in my mind of family members, neighbors, friends that I value so much. Some of them have already gone on, and those memories I have are all that is left of them! That is shocking to me! I have looked on Google to see what I can find of some of those people; of course, they are either not there at all, someone with the same name, or facts about them that fall so far short, or I know them to be not even true. That leaves such a hollow feeling.

One of the latest books I’ve been working on is such a poignant example of that. The subject of the book has been gone for several years, but his son had vivid memories of all the details of his life and family, and in fact several generations behind him! He poured out family life stories, full of cultural details that make you feel like you were there! You know exactly what it was like. As long as this book is out there, his dad’s story will never be gone! It will be on my web site soon and you’ll see what I mean! This story just had to be written! (It also includes historical facts about that time in history that you would never have known.) Books matter!
